Google Inc. (NSADAQ: GOOG) has acquired Waterloo, Ontario based PostRank Inc. Financial terms were not disclosed.
PostRank monitors and collects social engagement events correlated with online content in real-time across the web.
Founded in 2007 by Ilya Grigorik, Francis Lau, and Kevin Thomason, PostRank, formerly known as AideRSS, was originally targeting all of the stories in an RSS stream, assigns a score based on social engagement, and delivers only the most relevant stories to a reader’s inbox based on their chosen filtering level.
PostRank was backed by Tech Capital Partners and a group of angel investors.
