Fresco Microchip Inc. has closed a $9 million Series C round of venture financing with existing investors Celtic House Venture Partners and Ventures West. The Ontario Venture Capital Fund (OVCF) joined as a new co-investor.
Fresco Microchip intends to use funds to commercialize Fresco’s expanded product portfolio and to augment the company’s ability to serve customer demand in emerging markets.
Markham, Ontario based Fresco Microchip is a fabless semiconductor company focused on RF, mixed-signal, and digital signal processing architectures for the multi-billion dollar consumer electronics market.
Fresco Microchip products include FM2050, a low-power, single-chip demodulator for DVB-T and universal analog (NTSC, PAL, SECAM) and television broadcasts, and FM1100 product family that features single-chip devices that combine universal analog demodulation and multi-standard digital IF processing for global terrestrial and cable television markets.
Fresco Microchip has raised in excess of $Subscriber content million since its inception in 2005.
