Enerkem Appoints Anton de Vries to Board of Directors

Enerkem Inc., a waste-to-biofuels and chemicals company, has appointed Anton de Vries to its board of directors effective immediately.

A seasoned fuels and chemicals executive based in the Netherlands, de Vries has previously served as SVP of Olefins & Polyolefins Europe Asia and International at LyondellBasell Industries AF S.C.A. from January 2010 to November 9, 2010. de Vries also served as President of Polymers Division for LyondellBasell Industries (formerly, Basell AF S.C.A and formerly Basell N.V.) until December 2009. de Vries served as President of Basell Research and Development for Basell N.V. from July 2002 to July 2005.

de Vries spent 18 years with Royal Dutch Shell and had held various positions including  Technologist for the steam cracker, Assistant Plant Manager at the PVC plant, Production Manager of Ward Blenkinsop (a Shell Fine Chemical’s company near Liverpool, UK), Site Manager of Shell’s chemical operation near Cologne, Germany.

de Vries is a graduate of Delft Technical University.
