ActiveState Software announced today that Stackato is now available as an Amazon Machine Image (AMI).
Stackato is the application platform for creating a private PaaS using any language on any stack on any cloud, and with this integration users can now set up their own private PaaS in Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) without having to download a virtual machine of Stackato.
AMI is a virtual machine image format used natively on Amazon EC2. Developers interested in trying Stackato can now obtain access to the AMI by emailing stackato-support@activestate.com. The Stackato AMI is then shared as a private image, accessible in the AWS Management Console enabling developers to quickly and seamlessly create a private PaaS without having to download a VM.
